M. B. Sales Corporation, established in 1995, carries forward a family business legacy that has been part of India's electroplating and surface finishing industry since the 1940s. What began with electroplating chemicals and polishing materials has grown into a trusted group, guided by the same values of integrity, reliability, and expertise across generations.

  • 1942–58
    1942 – 1958

    Mr. Babubhai Parekh established the business of polishing materials and electroplating chemicals at an office near V. P. Road, C. P. Tank, Mumbai. In 1948, manufacturing of electroplating chemicals and polishing compositions commenced under the Roshni brand at Sewri, Mumbai. In 1958, the brand transitioned to PIMCO.

  • 1960–64
    1960 – 1964

    The factory was relocated to CST Road, Kalina (now BKC), where operations expanded nearly fivefold. In 1964, the company began importing Mexican fibre and other raw materials.

  • 1965–67
    1965 – 1967

    The second generation, Mr. Bipin Parekh, joined the business in 1965, further consolidating the family’s involvement in operations. By 1967, the product line grew to include steel water tanks, brass rods, brass screws, Mexican-fibre polishing wheels, polishing brushes, and polishing compositions, and the company had become India’s leading trader of Mexican fibre.

  • 1970–80
    1970 – 1980

    In 1970, manufacturing of sisal-fibre and cocoa-fibre polishing wheels were introduced, followed by large-scale cocoa-fibre trading from South India in 1972. Mr. Sushil Parekh joined the business in 1976, further consolidating the family’s involvement in operations. By the late 1970s, office operations were shifted to Khetwadi, Mumbai.

  • 1989–97
    1989 – 1997

    The product portfolio diversified further in 1989 with the trading of non-ferrous metals like nickel, cobalt, cadmium, bismuth, and zinc. In 1993, the third generation, Mr. Mihir Parekh, entered the business. Between 1994–95, manufacturing of polishing wheels and trading of Mexican and cocoa fibre were expanded significantly. In 1996, the company commenced the import and distribution of sodium cyanide and potassium cyanide as critical electroplating chemicals, and in 1997 became authorised distributors for Cyplus GmbH (formerly Degussa).

  • 2000–08
    2000 – 2008

    In 2000, copper cyanide and zinc cyanide were added to the portfolio, followed by electrophoretic lacquer and paint in 2002. Between 2007–08, the company secured exclusive distributorships for Hebei Chengxin Co. Ltd., China and Eternal Gloria Industrial Co. Ltd., Taiwan, while also introducing non-woven polishing wheels and non-woven scouring pads.

    2016

    The product range was broadened to include chromium trioxide (chromic acid), with authorised distributorship for Lanxess (now a part of Brother Group, Hong Kong).

  • 2022
    2022

    Abrasive cloth rolls were introduced, further strengthening the company’s presence in surface finishing products.

  • 2025
    2025

    The fourth generation, Ms. Saloni Parekh, daughter of Mr. Mihir Parekh, joined the business, carrying forward an enduring legacy of over 80 years.
